WHAT TO EAT WITH BRACES – WHAT FOODS TO EAT

After getting your braces put on, your teeth may be sore for a few days; especially when eating.  The most amount of discomfort will peak around 2-4 days after your braces are put on.  It is not uncommon for your teeth to be tender for 7 days, or in adults for 14 days.  It is important that you still eat enough food during these times of discomfort. If your teeth are sore after your get braces, consider the following foods:

  • Pancakes
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Eggs
  • Soft cheese
  • Yogurt
  • Bananas
  • Soft Tortillas
  • Muffins (without nuts)
  • Pasta
  • Soft Cooked rice
  • Chicken Noodle Soup
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Steamed Veggies
  • Beans
  • Fish
  • Deli Meats
  • Smoothies
  • Sorbet
  • Ice cream without hard or sticky chunks
  • Pudding
  • Apple Sauce
  • Cooked or Canned Fruit
